Cape Town

The Art Scene

Cape Town , Western Cape - South Africa

Tis It Nobler...

There is a vibrant art scene with venues both large and small. Numerous taverns offer intimate theater performances and music. Some have occasional panel discussions or poetry readings.

Cafe Skokiaan

Here's Dean and Lawrence at Cafe Skokiaan. They are two short blocks from our apartment. We've seen several plays here. The theater is attached to the cafe and is about the size of a small garage.

Some nights they have live music. For food they have a daily special and an assortment of pies and salads.

The house drink is "Old Brown Sherry" served on ice with slice of lime.

Your saying you're praying     Might not by lying, But baying and braying     won't stop you dying.

The Labia Cinema

Our local cinema offers 4 screens and currently is hosting two film festivals. One is on African films and the other is on "Exploring Consciousness".

Cape Town even boasts a local Theosophical Society Lodge.
