Siem Riep - Cambodia

In front of Angor Wat

An early Thursday morning greeted us as we boarded the fast boat for Siem Riep. The 4 hour trip was quite fascinating as we were able to observe the Cambodian river life. Most of what we saw from the boats roof were people lazily going about their daily farming chores, while children played on the shores of the river. Most of the time they seemed content with a stick, some mud or a bucket. After landing, we were quickly picked up by our soon to be motorcycle guides and taken to a guesthouse. Since it was past 4pm, we were able to see Angkor for free. The entrance road made me think of Disneyland with it's 'Angkor 2000' signs spaced evenly along the way.   Arriving, we were immediately awed by the size and scope of Angkor Wat. A huge mot separated us from the first wall of the temple.
