Five Miles per Hour

Tuesday - 8 Jun 1999
Canyonlands , Utah - U. S. A.

These roads can be real slow and its not a great place to break anything. Our 4-wheel drive was needed three or four times today. Even with some good stretches we only averaged 5 miles an hour.

Many Fantastic Canyons

Buck Canyon

Chicken Stir Fry for Dinner

Murphy's Camp

We make it here later in the day. We will be camping here for two nights.

After high winds and several gnat attacks we pull dinner together.

Looking out over the Green River drainage.

Sunset

We walk to the cliffs edge and watch nightfall creep across the canyons.

To My Father, Who Art in Heaven

Where is my father now?

Are his waves still distinct as they course the seas of cause and effect?

Or have they mingled like seasonings in a hearty stew?

Perhaps his voice has joined the concophony that sings the song of creation

for those still unfolding and for those still to be born.

Where is my father now, I wonder as childern of my own gather round.
