We traveled over Golden Gate bridge to Muir Woods -- a primeval redwood forest only 12 miles from the city.

After enjoying the peace of the forest we drove on some windy mountain roads to reach the small town of Stinson Beach where we ate lunch and enjoyed a walk on the beach.
