Wylie and Helene Alvord Desert |
Reunion and Rejuvenation
Back Together Again
After a night spent camped out by the road, Helene and I make it back to Boise. Helene drove our truck, and I drove Tom's truck with Grim in the back seat. Grim was real happy to get back home. He had spent most of the last 24 hours in the truck.
We find Tom at home and in good spirits. He is happy to be on the mend and we rejoice. Lori and the kids join us for feasting and merry making.
Back Where We Started
It turned out that we were not gone so long before we saw the familiar faces and places in Boise again! We make plans to head out the next morning after a good night's rest at Tom's.
Helene will fly from Salt Lake City to Montreal on 1 June, and I will meet my Brother Daniel and his family at the Colorado National Monument on 3 June.
A Final Prayer for Our Safe Passage
Also on this trip we saw another person being Life Flighted, we got a flat, Tom's truck ran out of gas and I nearly stepped on a rattle snake.
All of us felt that we had gone through a dangerous transition during the Alvord Desert stay. And we were all thankful for the support we had provided one another. Tom is evolving on his spiritual path and saw the kidney stones passing as purification. Helene and I are beginning a long trip and saw our tribulations as part of our passage from our old life to the new, and the need to proceed with caution.
