Our first stop is the Alvord Desert with hopes to find a Carnival that had been rummored on the internet. We scout around for awhile and find no leads.

The Conservation Officers tell us that other people have been asking for directions to the Carnival also, but they have no idea where it is either. We finally tell the Officers that "We Are The Carnival" and to send all seekers our direction.

So we fall back to Plan B, and that is just to loiter on a beautiful salt lake rimmed by snow capped peakes.

After a soak at the local hot springs I promptly get my truck stuck in the mud.

With resignation as our only choice, we both have a profoundly good nights sleep.
