Oz is so big, you can pick a climate. Leaving the Hot north, the couth coast is temperate, to the point of being too cool. The wind comes from Antarctica after all.

This road is very well known, I bicycled it. But it was wetter than I like.

Train travel is pretty graceful. It is easy to take a bike, but once off the train, security concerns are coming to Oz and it is very difficult to leave it at stations. Overall, I probably would not take the bike again.
