Leaves to make medicin

The medicin market
We only had a few days in Swaziland and one of them I felt sick.
But we took one day where we went to different places and saw some. This was our first stop at Manzini market. _____
Vi havde kun få dage i Swaziland og én af dem følte jeg mig syg.
Men vi havde dog en dag, hvor vi kom rundt og så noget. Dette var vores første stop ved Manzini marked.
And this was the great medicine man. He showed us some different plants, which was used to make medicine of. _____ Dette var medicin manden. Han viste os forskellige planter, der blev brugt til fremstilling af medicin.
Batik workshop
A fairly small workshop where they are making batik. The products were really beautiful.
Here the woman is applying wax to the fabric before the coloring. _____ Et lille værksted, hvor man laver batik. De færdige resultater blev virkelig smukke.
Her påfører kvinden voks før stoffet bliver farvet.
After the coloring this woman is sewing the product.
In the background you can see the beautiful batik curtain.

SwaziCandles
SwaziCandles is a magnificent little candle factory.
It was amazing to see how they could sculpture the wax into wonderful shapes and colors.

Det var imponerende at se hvordan de kunne skulpturere voksen i de mest vidunderlige former og farver.
Have you ever seen such a beautiful leopard or a blue hippo before? _____
Denne smukke leopard og den blå flodhest er et sjældent syn!
There were so many to choose from and what an imagination to make these wonderful creatures.
_____ Der var utrolig mange at vælge imellem og hvilken fantasi, der skal til for at lave disse skønne bæster.
Swazi Cultural Village
We visited Swazi Cultural Village; which is a village indicating how the Swazi people lived for about 100 to 150 years ago.
This is a traditional hut. The huts were divided between the men and the women. The man could have several wives and then visited them in turns.
The mother in law had a special hut. She was the one who took the major decision and helped out if there were any problems among the women or the younger girls.

Vi besøgte Swazi kultur landsbyen, der skulle indikere, hvordan en landsby tog sig ud for ca. 100 til 150 år siden.
Dette er en traditionel hytte.
Hytterne var delt mellem mænd og kvinder. Manden kunne have op til flere hustruer og besøgte dem derfor efter tur.
Svigermoderen havde en speciel hytte. Hun var den der foretog de større afgørelser og hjalp til, hvis der var problemer mellem kvinderne eller de yngre piger.
