Lao People's Democratic Republic.

My first day in Laos gave me an absolutely certainty that I would love this country. It just felt so real.

Unfortunately we only had the time to visit the Lao capital Vientiane. During our hole trip, I've been seek a couple of times and we just lost some weeks because of that.

In a cafe I found a couple of books of Lao Folktale, translated to English by Steve J. Epstein. Folktales like fairytales are some of my favorite readings so I couldn't resist buying them. Later the same day we were in a cafe at the banks of the Mekong River, watching the sunset and reading. I read the Lao Folktale and after a while the waiter came up to me and said, "Sometimes when you read, you smile". And that pretty much sums up my feeling for Laos, I feel like smiling.
