Introduction
The point of this journal is to ponder my own mental map of the Teton and Washakie Wilderness areas. The narrative, I admit, is disjointed, fast moving, and wildly unpredictable (much like the journal writer). It blurs the distinction between my culture and the natural world on many occasions and is fraught with contradiction. But underneath it all, like a granite foundation, is the place and my relationship to it.
