Bear Creek Pass

From the sign, at 3.3 miles, Bear Creek Pass is a 1.0 mile climb. The Washakie Wilderness boundary is at the top. The view is good, but not spectacular. The trail switches back steeply towards the headwaters of Bear Creek. The trail appears and disappears frequently as it encounters many recent landslides. In spite of this, it is easy to follow and at 5.0 miles, reach the signed junction with the Absaroka Trail. There is no camping in this area. Turn right(north) and ascend on a trail that is obvious for about half a mile...
