Hurricane Henri Hoax!

Kelly Park in Apopka , Florida - U. S. A.

The camp out that didn't happen.

The Hurricane that Wasn't

My sister and son decided this weekend would be just GREAT to camp out at nearby Kelly Park. The park is beautiful, complete with a clear spring run that pushes you along. You can swim or float in a tube with no little or no effort. The water is, as with all springs, 72F year round.

Patty and George arrived, and the skies were cloudy and the weathermen were all advising to stay home, a hurricane was going to pack buckets of rain and strong winds. Not exactly what you'd want to weather out in a tent under trees. Patty and George left their gear in their car and stayed in our guest room instead.

Patty and I went shopping at Bass Pro Shop's Outdoor World and dreamed of camping. We also hit the girly shops on International Drive as well. It was a nice day for the sisters. While we shopped, George (14) stayed home with Uncle Mark and cousin David and swam in the pool.

It never did rain. Never were there high winds! In fact, we heard thunder rumbling from the east coast in the wee hours, and we only got a light drizzle Saturday morning. Sunday was equally beautiful.
