Despite the late night, I'm up bright and early to wander the town. Now wandering Puerto Vallarta is definitely not as adventurous as discovering Delhi, but interesting nonetheless.
I am staying (by default) in the old part of town, south of the small river, the Rio Cuale. By daylight the area looks far more appealing than it does at 3 a.m. The roads are all cobblestone, the sidewalks are tile and there's the brilliant, warm sun beaming down on me. Could be worse!
Puerto Vallarta is set on a horseshoe bay backed by the Sierre Madre mountains, quite a picturesque setting.
it doesn't take me long to find a cafe serving an excellent cappuccino in a fishbowl sized mug. The fishbowl sized beverages are about to become a theme for the trip.
