Ron and I both live in Boise, so we loaded up my rig and drove to Moab yesterday. Dennis and Byron have been touring the back roads for the last few weeks and came down from Colorado. Dave drove out from California. We all rendezvoused at the City Park this morning.

We sorted through all our gear and made sure it would all fit in our boats. Later we stopped by at Tag-A-Long. They would be doing our shuttle: hauling us out by truck to Ruby Ranch and picking us up by Jet Boat and the Confluence with the Colorado. They charge $115 per head for the service and are a friendly crew.

After picking up a few last minute items we head out of town to camp the night amongst hoodoos and red rock.
