Arrived late at night. Hong Kong in the dark from a speeding train looks like something out of Blade Runner.
Hotel is good and we're knackered. Not here for long - just time to do some shopping!
Hong Kong is smoggy. Record levels, so we can barely see across the bay - awful. Only refuge is the shopping malls!
Lea bought a video camera and I got a MiniDisc player.
Better get out of here before we are bankrupt!
- The Airport Express Trains are by far the best way to get into town. HK's airport is no langer the infamous strip next to the water, it is now a fair way out of the city. The trains leave every 10 mins and are fairly cheap.
- If you're a magazine-aholic like me, you can get UK mags here, but they are usually twice UK price.
- The one thing you can't buy in HK is Music. There are about 2 music shops in Kowloon, and they are tiny.
VCDs and DVDs are everywhere, but they don't seem to be into music at all.
