Our time in Southeast Asia was getting tight. We decided to do the Temples of Ankor Wat through an organized tour. We also figured that we'd leave Bangkok during the New Years/Water Festival and avoid the tourist hungry hordes armed with high-powered water guns. Although that was successful, we ended up in Siem Reap during Cambodia's New Year and annual pilgrimage to the Temples of Angkor. The temple area was teeming with families enjoying the festive season. The atmosphere was truly heartwarming, especially considering the horrors that these people endured under Pol Pot's regine in the late 70's.
