Please...I need a shower!
First thing I noticed when I got off the bus in B.A., was that I was sweating due to zero physical exertion. This was an experience I would learn to live with for a couple days. The humidity was tremendous. When arriving, the bus took us right through the center of downtown, and up to a pleasant bus terminal. I quickly found my "Lonely Planet" guidebook, and rehearsed my Spanish for grabbing a taxi. This was no trouble being that the cab drivers practically jump you, and throw you into their little Puegeots. My driver was a man in his late 60's or 70's with obvious hearing loss, and an inability to Communicate. I was giving directions properly and showed him the map of where I needed to go, but Jesus!... he kept saying strange names and pointing to other locations on the map. It was one of those situations where if you say "No Entiendo" (I don't understand), the other person simply repeats what they said louder and louder and louder as if it will somehow make you understand what they're saying...hehe. I the end, I tipped him well for putting up with a silly American, and found the Recoleta youth Hostel.
Though not a luxury sweet, I needed only a place to rest my head, and a Shower! The humidity seemed to be exponentially rising. I made some friends and we would stay up till 4 A.M. laughing and drinking, up on top of the roof. I think we all would have gone to bed sooner, but being up above the surrounding buildings, with a cool breeze was simply blissful.

Off to the Opera!
The Buenos Aires Opera House is a World Class Architectural Gem. Everywhere you turn you see craftsmanship, gold, and pride. After taking a tour during the day time, I decided to see an Opera for myself in this 10 level sound chamber. I quickly grabbed one of the last tickets for the last show of the season, and thought about how in the hell I was going to dress for a closing night show. Later that evening, after a wonderful steak dinner, I wandered over to the theater. With Spanish subtitles, and Italian Lyrics the Opera was somewhat hard to understand. I was a good show and worth going to.
This was cool.

Downtown, the city has a wonderful park in easy reach of any skyscraper, the ocean right near by, and the train station in view. I love the trees in this photo.
Below is Florida Ave. It's a street reserved for little shops and not for vehicles. Pedesttians roam this place all day long. It's pretty cool to just take in everything and all the people buzzing around you.
A busy city indeed.
