I came to Toronto from Pennsylvania in 2000 and I've never been sorry about my relocating here. As a perpetual foreigner with thick accent I feel much more accepted here than I ever was back in the US. Whoever came up with the famous phrase of a "melting pot" had it geographically wrong. It is here, in Toronto, that every third passerby came from elsewhere and if not because of own cultural sensitivities then because of necessity one learns to tolerate and accept another.
