The Baja Penisula hangs down from California, separating the Pacific Ocean from the Sea of Cortez
(also called the Gulf of California by the less romantic). I'd wanted to go to there ever since reading John
Steinbeck's, "Log From The Sea Of Cortez," about an expedition Steinbeck and Marine Biologist
Ed Ricketts took in 1940 to study the tidepools of the Baja Peninsula.
