The Streets of San Telmo

Argentina

Market and old style architecture

The Market

Argentina has some truly fabulous markets. The one down in a part of B.A. called "San Telmo" is especially famous. You can find some really neat antiques here. I've been to flee markets, but if I were a serious collector I'd be searching foreign cities. It's actually fun to browse through everything here.

Tango?

Hearing music, mi amigos y yo wandered on over to the crowd and discovered a Tango show in progress. Those poor souls! The humidity and heat was sweltering.

My friends and I after a delightful lunch.

All the food was just wonderful. There were vendors all around and restaurants surrounding us. Tourism was obviously a large part of these vendors' livelihoods.

I love those cobblestone streets.

Muchos Gracias!

I thought she was a statue....

This lovely lady makes a living posing as a statue. I almost ran into her! If you toss her a coin or two, she'll blow you a kiss as in this picture. Notice the heavy wooden doors behind her. I imagine these old building had some good stories to tell.
