Pokhara - The Land of Bees and Honey

Pokhara - Nepal

Pokhara is a lakeside town very close to the Annapurna range in the Himalayas. We stayed at a hotel right on the water (Fewa). We were only there for 4 days but it was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries. We revelled in the warmth and took advantage of the lake by boating over to the World Peace Pagoda which was on top of a hill on the other side of the lake. We also took in a few scrumdillyicious meals with our good buds Marieve and Jeff - the highlight of which was some gourmet pizzas at Cafe Concerto - who knew that a few capers and olives could taste so divine?

It is worth mentioning that when we arrived in Pokhara, Joe was all but insisting we not do the Everest Trek and further, he was thinking it might be best if we carry on with Marieve and Jeff to Thailand on a dive trip! Alas, after the rejuvenation that is Pokhara, we carried on to Lukla for Part II of our trekking travels.
