What I'm doing now

I haven't updated this journal since just after I returned home from Mexico. Until now, that is. I still get responses to this journal, so I thought I should add this section to tell you about what I'm doing now, and how going to Mexico changed my life.

Shortly after I returned home, I did two important things. First of all, I met a girl (another avid traveler) and we have been going out for over a year now. Also, I started graduate school at the University of Minnesota. I completed that program in August of 2003. I earned my teaching license in English as a Second Language and French.

Now, I am a licensed teacher at an alternative high school in Minneapolis, MN. Almost all of my students are from Mexico, so really, I'm doing the same job now as I was in Queretaro! Its keeping me very busy, but I'm getting paid to do something I love. Without having had the experience in Queretaro, I really don't think I would have the confidence to do what I do now. (I also don't think they would have hired me!)
