Our Flight

Bangkok - Thailand

The Flight

We left Hong Kong around 10pm to fly to Bangkok - You would not believe the airline. We flew Empirate airline and had a brand new plane. It was a ton of fun, all kinds of little gadgets to play with - a video game/movies/cameras out the front of the airplane to watch...it was amazing.

The flight was good and we spent our first night in Bangkok in a wonderful hotel called Le Meridian - Presidente...First class. Marble floors in the bathroom and all. Not at all in the gypsy category!! But it was fun none the less! We didn't get in till late and had to be out early this morning so we didn't get to do much.

We are now on our way to south Thailand and getting nervous because we don't have any reservations and everyone is telling us that we won't find a place to stay because it is high season....we will see!! I think it is all a ploy to get us to reserve a room.

One bad thing about the trip so far is that I have yet to have any asian food - everywhere we have eaten has served western food!!! We are hoping to change that tonight.

NOt much more excitement - sorry more to come later!

Krabi Town

Krabi town did not make a strong impression on any of us. Basically all we did was arrive at the airport and take a taxi to the pier. Once there we were almost accosted by longboat owner asking to take us to Krabi. We had no idea what to do but we did see a nice large ship and ventured there to figure it all out. The larger ship had scheduled sailings and had we waited to travel with one of them we would not have reached Railey before 5pm. As we were a little concerned about not having reservations, we decided to chance a long boat ride...
